What is the main drainpipe cleanout?
The plumbing drain cleanout provides a convenient access should the main drain line that goes to your septic tank or city sewer system, get clogged and need to be rootered.
Where is the sewer cleanout located?
Most commonly, the cleanout access is in the yard just outside the bathroom of the home. You may see a pipe, 4 inches in diameter with a drain cap or threaded plug, sticking out of the ground, usually within a few feet from the foundation.
NOTE: We have been very successful in locating the sewer line opening if you’re not sure where it is.
When do we need the cleanout access?
If you hear gurgling in your toilet and drain pipes, possibly the toilet water has backed up into your shower or tub, or there is water seeping from the outside cleanout opening; now is the time to call a professional drain cleaner!
Why is this important?
All of the individual drain lines in your home or business exit out of the building through the main sewer line, so it is essential that you keep sewer and septic lines draining thoroughly.
How is it done?
Your drain line needs to be cabled or snaked using the appropriate commercial-grade electric sewer cleaning machines, commonly known as an auger or drain snake. We arrive equipped with the proper hand tools and mechanical equipment to clear any of your plumbing drain lines.
